Communications Officer

The Warren Band Boosters have decided to elect a communications officer as an official booster office. This officer is in charge of updating the band programs website, social media, and promoting the bands. This exciting new office will allow the bands to share more with the community. Keep the latests schedule of performances up to date as well as signup for different band programs and fundraising opportunities.

This evening I was official elected to this office. So who is I that you are reading about. Well let me introduce myself, my name is Jan Holden. I am a mother of 4 children. My oldest graduated in 2025, and spent many years in the Warren Band program. She has often expressed the regret of not continuing with band after playing trombone when she was in 5th grade. My oldest has always had a passion for music, her freshman year was when she decided to give the band programs another go. As she attended her high school open house, her freshman year, she decided to talk with Mr. Clark about joining the symphonic band but she did not want to play trombone. Mr. Clark was happy to have her back and she began learning all kinds of instruments as she joined the percussion section. Fast forward to Spring that year she showed interest in Marching band but didn't know what she wanted to play. Mr. Clark, at this time, knew that she had been teaching herself bass guitar and as soon as he told her that he was ok with her playing bass with the marching band she signed up for both the Big Blue Machine and the Marching Warriors. At this point our family was hooked and truly started to realize all the the Warren Band Programs has to offer.

So back to telling you more about myself. I am not a graduate of Warren but rather a wife of a Warren alum. I spent many years in my youth playing Trombone at Tri-Valley Schools. I was very involved in everything music when I was in school. Four years of marching band and loved it. Until my oldest joined the Marching band I had not known that Warren hosts their own OMEA competition. (Warrior Legacy) This is where this new role as a communication officer excites the past band student in me and even more excited to share the present experience as I get to perform with my children in Warren's community band. I am a full time nurse at the Washington County Home. I also started my own photography business years ago. The skills I have learned over the years will be of great use in this new office. Currently I have a 7th grade son who learned trombone and is now playing bass guitar like his oldest sister, and my 8th grade daughter who started on alto saxophone and now plays tenor saxophone. My youngest is in 3rd grade and has cheered on the marching bands since she was 4 years old. So yes, I have many more years as part of the Warren Band programs. So many concerts, competitions, fundraising and more to watch, enjoy, and promote.
